Note: Ken Danby began drawing at a very early age (informing his parents at the age of ten, that he would become 'an artist'). He has always considered drawing to be an essential element in the creation of his work. His 'studies', in pencil or watercolour, often serve as preparation for work to follow, in tempera or oil.
