The vineyards of Tuscany are renowned for the quality of their grapes and the exquisite Chianti wines they have produced - a rich harvest for many generations. In my perception, they were even more: they were a rich visual experience that dazzled my eyes.
Laid out in long regimented rows, their perfect symmetry reached toward the horizon, creating an avenue of light, shadow and colour that continually shimmered in the sunlight. The autumn light of Tuscany provided a wonderful illumination of the mature golden leaves on the vines. I was enthralled, and ultimately challenged to create this image of my encounters with what I realized was truly Tuscan Gold.
